Supervised Visitation Program

Supervised Visitation can be used in any environment where an individual must be supervised in order to alleviate concerns. Supervision is most commonly used in regards to parenting of a child if safety concerns arise but also but can also be used to protect elderly or other vulnerable individuals. Our office provides Community Supervision as opposed to being supervised in an agency setting. Locations could include, but are not limited to, visiting the park, community activites, an event, shopping or having a visit in the home. Visits can occur as long and as frequent as you are able to coordiate with your designated supervisor. 

Supervised Parenting allows parents in high conflict or high-risk situations access to their children in a safe, neutral environment. Situations may include concerns regarding abuse or neglect but also for deficient parenting skills or concern regarding manipulation or inappropriate communication or behaviors with their child. The purpose of supervision is to provide safety and also ensure the parent-child relationship can continue and move in a positive direction. 

We have qualified contractors available to provide services to
Sioux Falls and its surrounding area as well as Yankton, Mitchell, Aberdeen, Watertown and Southwest Minnesota.

How Do I Get Started?

Contact Erin Trefz, the Visitation Coordinator, at erin@sdresolutions.com or at (605) 359-9760 to schedule an intake. The intake will take place with both parents separately and will involve receipt of information and discussion of rules, expectations, payment information and the family's particular needs. Following intake, Erin will designate a supervisor to your case and you will coordinate visits with that individual. Following the visit, the designated supervisor will provide a written summary to your attorney, social services officer or other specified professional.
